Paul Kong serves as Senior Fellow at the Lugar Center in Washington, DC focusing on American trade policy, Sino-U.S. relations and domestic U.S. politics. A veteran Congressional aide, he was senior advisor to U.S. Senator Richard Lugar, two-time chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and as legislative director to U.S. Senator Chuck Hagel, the 24th Secretary of Defense. On U.S.-Korea matters, Mr. Kong advises the Federation of Korean Industries and the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy. Mr. Kong was the director in the international division of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, leading the secretariat of the U.S.-Korea Business Council.
He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Catholic University School of Law.
