  MESSAGE FROM CO-CHAIRS

Dear AMCHAM Members,

The last nine months have been among the most eventful in the history of the Korean Peninsula since the Korean War. From fears of armed conflict at the start of this year, to hopes of peace and unification surrounding the two historic summits in May and June, to renewed uncertainty in recent months, we have witnessed a historic transformation in the diplomatic and security situation among the two Koreas and the United States.

For the business community here in Korea, these developments provoke a wide range of curiosities, concerns, and hopes. Above all, questions are raised: What has really changed in North Korea, and what is the actual state of the North Korean economy? How does the international sanctions regime work, and where is it headed? What are the implications for companies based in South Korea?

We are pleased to host two experts on who offer unique expertise and insights into recent events surrounding DPRK. Please join us for what will undoubtedly be a very interesting and informative discussion on these important questions and more.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey Jones
Co-Chair of DPRK Committee
