As CEO, Asia Pacific, Tyler Kim leads Weber Shandwick’s operations and growth across multiple markets in the region.
With over 25 years of experience in the business, Tyler has counselled senior executives and Fortune 500 companies on a wide range of strategic communication areas including market entry, corporate positioning and marketing communications. He has also advised corporations in navigating sensitive issues such as labour conflicts, plant closures, restructuring, proxy contests, shareholder activism and M&A.
Prior to stepping into his current role, Tyler was managing director of Weber Shandwick North Asia overseeing Japan and Korea. Tyler established the Weber Shandwick brand in Korea in 2009, driving the agency’s exponential growth in the market within just a few years. He also led Weber Shandwick’s acquisition of one of Korea’s leading digital agencies.
In 2012, Weber Shandwick Korea was named Consultancy of the Year by the Holmes Report (now known as PRovoke).
Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Tyler was managing director of Edelman Korea. Under his leadership, the office became the most profitable in Asia Pacific and was named Agency of the Year in 2008 by the Korea Public Relations Association. Prior to that, Tyler co-founded a Seoul-based communications agency, leading it for 10 years.
