The signing ceremony, held at IFC Forum on March 13, was attended by AMCHAM Chairman & CEO James Kim, YIDO CEO Junghun Choi, HANGANG ASSET Infrastructure CEO Jin Son, and NH Investment & Securities Head of Infrastructure Korea Hyeyoung Yoon, underscoring the growing investment collaboration between Korea and the United States.

With the Trump 2.0 administration prioritizing large-scale infrastructure revitalization, this agreement will help Korean companies overcome market entry barriers and establish a sustainable presence in the U.S. infrastructure sector. AMCHAM, YIDO, NH Investment & Securities, and HANGANG ASSET will jointly explore investment opportunities in projects led by U.S. federal, state, and local governments, while building strategic partnerships with pension funds and Korean financial institutions to enable long-term investments.

To further these efforts, AMCHAM will play a crucial role in fostering industry connections, supporting strategic engagements with key U.S. infrastructure firms, and leveraging its K-Doorknock initiative to provide Korean businesses with direct access to decision-makers in the U.S. infrastructure sector.

In particular, there is much interest in Hangang Asset Management’s movements leveraging its New York branch. In terms of overseas investment, Hangang Asset has focused on real estate in the U.S. and Europe. However, with this agreement, the company plans to actively expand overseas investments in infrastructure sectors such as roads, ports, power generation facilities, and renewable energy. Currently, Hangang Asset's committed AUM (Assets Under Management) amounts to approximately 5 trillion won. Its largest shareholder and founder is Junghun Choi, who serves as the CEO of Yido.

This agreement is part of AMCHAM’s ongoing “Buy America” campaign, which aims to facilitate Korean companies’ expansion into the U.S. market and enhance bilateral trade and investment relations. Throughout 2025, AMCHAM will continue fostering high-impact partnerships with key industry stakeholders, broadening the procurement of U.S. goods and services in Korea, and reinforcing its mission to drive economic growth and strengthen U.S.-Korea trade ties.
