    TOPIC
From Reform to Execution: Building a Predictable Healthcare Innovation Ecosystem
    DESCRIPTION
As Korea continues to expand its role as a global leader in healthcare innovation, the importance of a predictable, globally aligned, and innovation-friendly regulatory environment has become increasingly critical. Amid continuing discussions on regulatory competitiveness and non-tariff barriers in the context of U.S.-Korea economic cooperation, the successful implementation of healthcare reforms will play an important role in shaping Korea’s attractiveness as a destination for global investment and innovation.

Building on last year’s dialogue on the healthcare priorities of the new administration, the AMCHAM Healthcare Innovation Seminar 2026 will focus on the implementation of key healthcare reforms and the steps needed to further align Korea’s healthcare policies with global standards. The Seminar will bring together government officials, industry leaders, and policy experts from Korea and the United States to discuss the future direction of healthcare innovation and policy in Korea.

Particular attention will be given to the implementation of the MOHW’s pharmaceutical pricing reforms announced in late 2025, including efforts to improve patient access and strengthen value recognition for innovative medicines. Discussions will also explore broader healthcare innovation priorities, including regulatory pathways for advanced healthcare technologies, digital health solutions, and public-private collaboration needed to strengthen Korea’s long-term healthcare competitiveness.

Through keynote presentations and panel discussions, the Seminar aims to foster practical dialogue between policymakers and industry leaders on policy priorities needed to strengthen innovation, patient access, and Korea’s global healthcare competitiveness.
