The event aims to showcase the unique personal journeys of each woman leader and spotlight AMCHAM’s commitment to advancing women’s economic empowerment through its platform. Attendees will have a unique opportunity to celebrate International Women’s Day 2024 through an engaging panel discussion and connect with like-minded professionals dedicated making a positive impact for a more inclusive society.

    About the Speaker
    • [Co-Moderator] Christina Ahn, Client Partner, Korn Ferry

      Christina Ahn is a Client Partner at Korn Ferry where she leads the Global Consumer Market in Seoul.  As a core member of the Korea leadership team, she works closely with local and multinational clients across a diverse range of industries including consumer, FMCG, luxury/retail, professional services and education sector. 
      Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Christina served at another global executive search firm where she launched the Korea office as the Managing Director in Seoul.  Christina brings a strong talent consultancy background. Having lived and worked in the U.S. and multiple cities across Asia, Christina brings a global and inclusive perspective to leadership talent selection and management.  
    • [Panelist] Joy M. Sakurai, Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy Seoul

      Joy M. Sakurai began her assignment as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Seoul, Republic of Korea in January 2023.

      Ms. Sakurai’s most recent overseas assignment was as Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Vientiane, Laos. She has also served as the Principal Officer in Fukuoka, Japan, in addition to Jakarta, Indonesia on two occasions, in Tokyo, Japan and in Islamabad, Pakistan. In Washington, she served in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research and the Bureau of East Asian & Pacific Affairs.

      Ms. Sakurai is from Hawai’i and is a 2020 Distinguished Graduate of the National War College and the recipient of the college’s Theodore Roosevelt Award for scholarship and leadership. She received her undergraduate degree from Lake Forest College. Her foreign languages include Japanese, Indonesian, Lao, and French. Her foreign service officer spouse and two children have also joined her in Seoul.
    • [Panelist] Myung-Soon Yoo, CEO, Citibank Korea Inc.

      Myung-Soon (MS) Yoo is Chief Executive Officer of Citibank Korea Inc. and Citi Country Officer for Korea since October 2020.

      MS has been in the banking industry for more than 30 years and has extensive experience in working with institutional clients, including public sector clients. Prior to her current role, she was Head of Corporate Banking responsible for driving Institutional Client Group strategy by providing full spectrum of banking services leveraging Citi’s strong global platform and network.
    • [Panelist] Cheeyoung Lee, Senior Vice President, Procter & Gamble Korea

      Cheeyoung Lee was appointed as the General Manager of P&G Korea in June 2022. Lee joined P&G Korea in 2000 as brand manager of Marketing Department. She has led the growth of P&G brands, with vast experience in brand strategy and marketing of various P&G brands in key markets of Asia Pacific region such as Korea, Japan, Singapore and China. Particularly, as an APAC Fabric Homecare business leader, she successfully executed the plan to launch Downy fabric enhancer in the Korean market and contributed to the growth of Downy and Febreze, brands that have continued to position as #1 in the categories. She has been leading the marketing organization at P&G Korea since 2021.
