    AMCHAM Korea is pleased to host a Special Luncheon with H.E. Koo Yun Cheol, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy, providing AMCHAM members with an exclusive opportunity to engage in high-level dialogue on Korea’s economic and regulatory policy direction.

    During the session, Deputy Prime Minister Koo will share the government’s policy direction and insights on supporting Korea’s sustainable economic growth and strengthening the country’s global investment appeal. The discussion will also address key policy priorities related to promoting foreign investment, improving the business environment, and enhancing Korea’s competitiveness as a leading AI and financial hub.

    This special session will offer valuable insights into Korea’s economic policy outlook and regulatory strategies, fostering meaningful exchange between policymakers and the AMCHAM business community.

    About the Speaker

    • H.E. Koo Yun Cheol, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy
      H.E. Koo Yun Cheol is the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Korea. A career public servant with extensive leadership experience in fiscal policy, budget coordination, and government policy management, he has held senior roles including Minister of the Office for Government Policy Coordination, Second Vice Minister and Deputy Minister for Budget at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and senior positions in the Office of the President. He also served as Senior Advisor at the Inter-American Development Bank and Executive Director of the Gyeongbuk Cultural Foundation, and has taught economics at Seoul National University. He holds a Ph.D. in Trade and Logistics from Chung-Ang University, master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin and Seoul National University, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Seoul National University.
