AMCHAM hosts a Business Roundtable with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Blinken

SEOUL, February 9, 2015 - The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM Korea) and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) jointly hosted a business roundtable luncheon with Antony Blinken, the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, at the Lotte Hotel in Sogong Dong on February 9, 2015.

Deputy Secretary Blinken, on his first overseas trip since taking office in January of 2015, is expected to travel also to China and Japan following his visit to Korea. At this roundtable, the U.S. Ambassador to Korea Mark Lippert, AMCHAM Chairman James Kim, and KITA Chairman Duck-Soo Han as well as economic leaders and key business people of both sides participated and discussed trade and economic cooperation measures for Korea and the U.S.

AMCHAM Korea was founded in 1953, with a broad mandate to encourage the development of investment and trade between the Republic of Korea and the United States. AMCHAM is the largest foreign chamber in Korea with around 800 member companies with diverse interests and substantial participation in the Korean economy.

?블린킨 미 국무부 부장관 초청 간담회 개최

주한미국상공회의소(이하 암참)은 2월 9일(월) 한국무역협회(KITA)와 소공동 롯데 호텔에서 블린킨(Antony Blinken) 미 국무부 부장관을 초청하여 경제인 오찬간담회를 공동 개최했다.

2015년 1월 취임 이후 첫 해외 출장에 오른 블린킨 부장관은 한국을 시작으로 중국과 일본을 차례로 방문할 예정이다. 이날 간담회에는 제임스 김 암참 회장과 한덕수 무역협회 회장을 비롯해 마크 리퍼트 주한 미국대사 및 양측 경제계 인사와 주요 기업인들이 참석하여 한미 양국 간의 무역 및 경제협력 방안에 대해 논의했다.
