MESSAGE FROM CO-CHAIRS | |||||||||
Dear AMCHAM Members,
Compliance to food regulations is key to success for foreign food companies. MFDS' food safety policy is for up-front control with very specific requirements, instead of post-intervention. Foreign companies may find challenging to comply with these complex requirements if not fully informed of the changes. Furthermore, there were several important changes including GMO Labelling Regulation, Special Act on Imported Food Safety, and new food labeling requirements. To better understand Korean food safety regulation and learn about these key changes, please join this event on Oct. 12th at Grand Hyatt Seoul. Our speakers, Maria Hajiyerou and Seung Yi Paik, are involved in many food regulatory matters in Korea, and frequently asked by their clients for advice and solutions. They will offer keen insight on how U.S. companies will prepare for and react to the food safety regulations, which I anticipate will be a highly information session. AMCHAM Agriculture & Food Committee Co-Chair Andy Park |
