?TOPIC
“What you need to know about Anti-Corruption Policies in doing business in Korea”

?

Dear AMCHAM Members,

Come learn about the new anti-bribery legislation entitled the "Act on the Prohibition of Improper Solicitation and Provision/Receipt of Money and Valuables," commonly referred to as the "Kim Young-ran Law" (named after the then head of the Anti-Corruption & Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) who led the preparation of the original bill). The law was passed by the National Assembly on March 3, 2015 after undergoing numerous revisions over a period of several years. The bill, which was first introduced in August 2012, gained significant traction in the last year or so in the wake of the Sewol ferry incident. You will have the opportunity to hear directly from the Vice Chairman of the ACRC yourself.

Best regards,

AMCHAM Compliance & Ethics Co-Chairs
