About the Speaker

Colonel Allen D. Leth, Jr.
Topic : Communication Strategy of USFK

COL Allen D. Leth is the Chief of Communication Strategy within the U/C/J5 for UNC, CFC, and USFK. COL Leth received his Commission as an Infantry Officer from the United States Military Academy in 1997. He is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic and Captains Career Courses, U.S. Army Airborne and Air Assault Schools, Bradley Leader’s Course, Scout Leader’s Course, Ranger School, Command and General Staff College, and National War College.

COL Leth ‘s previous assignments include: Bradley and Scout Platoon Leader, 1-22IN 4th ID (Fort Hood, TX); Company Commander, B/1-27IN 25th ID (Schofield Barracks, HI); Instructor, Dept. of Physical Education at the USMA (West Point, NY); Squadron S3 and XO, Regimental XO, and Deputy Commanding Officer (2d Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, GE); XO to the DCG, USAREUR (Heidelberg, GE); and Battalion Commander, 1-8IN 3/4ID (Fort Carson, CO) and 1-29IN 316th BDE (Fort Benning, GA). His most recent assignment was the Director, Command and Tactics Directorate for the Maneuver Center of Excellence. COL Leth has numerous deployments to Eastern Europe and the CENTCOM AOR in various staff and command positions.

COL Leth’s awards include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the EIB, the CIB, Army Parachutist Wings, Air Assault Wings, and Ranger Tab. COL Leth holds a Bachelor of Science from USMA, a Master of Science from Texas A&M University, a Master of Military Arts and Science from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and a Master of National Security Strategy from the National War College.
