Message from Co-chairs

Dear AMCHAM Members,

On July 25, 2019, the Ministry of Economy and Finance publicly released the 2019 draft Tax Revision Bill (the “Draft Bill”) which if enacted by the National Assembly, would generally be effective from January 1, 2020. After several years of reducing or eliminating tax incentives in the name of achieving tax equity and tax rationalizing, the Draft Bill appears to have changed directions to provide some tax incentives to businesses due to the slowdown of the Korean economy. Ms. Kim will provide a summary of some key international tax law proposals in the Draft Bill that can potentially impact multinational companies and other foreign investors doing business with or investing in Korea.

Please join us in what should be an informative session that will provide AMCHAM members a general understanding of the key tax changes that may impact their businesses next year.
