HanJoo Lee is a serial entrepreneur and a startup investor. He is passionate about cloud, startups and global entrepreneurship.
His latest venture is Bespin Global, a cloud managed service provider operating in China and Korea. In 2012, he co-founded SparkLabs along with 5 other co-founders. SparkLabs is both an accelerator and a VC. Prior to SparkLabs, HanJoo co-founded Hostway with his college friends in 1998 and successfully exited the Hostway US business. In 2006, he co-founded Affinity.com, a leading online and mobile advertising network in India.
HanJoo Lee graduated with a B.A. in Biological Sciences from the University of Chicago. He was born and raised in Korea.
Samuel Hwang is currently a General Partner of 500 Startups Korea, responsible for managing investments in Korea.
Samuel founded New Pathway Education, an edtech startup, in Shanghai, China in 2009 and sold his business to CVC Capital Partners in December of 2014. New Pathway Education was merged with CVC portfolio company EIC Education and subsequently, Sam served as the CTO and Board member of EIC, one of China's leading international education companies with 3500+ employees with operations in 27 cities in China. In May of 2016, CVC led a sale of EIC Education to Chinese private equity firm NLD Investment LLP.
Samuel is also actively involved as a director of the Hong Kong MIT Innovation Node and serves as a board member of the MIT Sandbox Funding Board. Sam received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (2006) and a Master of Science in Materials Science & Engineering (2008), both from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Charles Rim is the founding and General Partner at Access Ventures, and he specializes in the area of consumer and B2B software companies in Korea and Southeast Asia.
Previously, Charles was the managing director of Korea and Southeast Asia at Tapjoy, a leading mobile advertising and monetization platform, and also venture partner for DFJ Athena, based in Seoul, Korea. Under his leadership, Tapjoy has established itself as the leader in mobile incentivized ad platforms in Korea and the APAC region.
Charles graduated with a BA from the University of Pennsylvania in 1983 and received his JD from the Emory University School of Law in 1986. He enjoys the great outdoors and has a particular passion for angling in all waters.
