The Monetary Policy Board is a policy-making body that deliberates and decides on important economic matters concerning the monetary policy of the Bank of Korea. Ms. Suh Young Kyung will share her valuable insights on the Korean economic outlook and monetary policy direction for 2023.

About the Speaker

Ms. Suh Young Kyung, Monetary Policy Board Member of the Bank of Korea

Ms. Suh Young Kyung is currently a Monetary Policy Board member of the Bank of Korea. As a Monetary Policy Board member, Ms. Suh formulates monetary and credit policies, and deliberates and resolves on major matters concerning the operations of the Bank of Korea. Prior to her current role, Ms. Suh served on the Presidential Committee on Northern Economic Cooperation, Director General for Sustainable Growth Initiative at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Visiting Professor of Economics at Korea University, and Deputy Governor for Research, Economic Statistics, and International Cooperation at the Bank of Korea.
She earned her Ph.D. in Economics from George Washington University and a B.A. in Economics from Seoul National University.
