Several pages of the AMCHAM Korea site
are written using Korean characters. Without the appropriate
software these displays will be unreadable. The following information
will help you read those areas :
|
|
| |
| 1. |
If you are using a Macintosh, try the Han Korean
Kit. This program can be obtained from: http://www.hansoft.com/hkk/hkk.html
Macintosh users may also use the Macintosh Korean System,
the Apple Korean Language Kit or another authorized Apple
Korean language add-on program. These may be obtained
by contacting the dealer from which the system was purchased.
|
| 2. |
If
you're using an Windows operating system, are you using
Microsoft Windows 3.x or Windows 95? Korean versions of
Microsoft Windows can be purchased from a variety of software
retailers. Under Korean Windows all characters will be
displayed properly. There are also free- and shareware
solutions available for English language Windows users:
If you are using Windows 3.x, your best solution is
Union Way. This program can also be used with Windows
95. It can be obtained from: Union
Way
If you are using Windows 95, a program called NJWin provides
excellent results. Get it from: http://www.njstar.com.au
Both NJWin and Union Way will enable you to read Japanese
and Chinese on the Web as well. |
| 3. |
If
you are using any other operating system, such as OS/2,
UNIX, Windows NT, etc. you may be able to find a workable
Korean character reader at the following site: http://meena.cc.uregina.ca/~liushus/pub/read-chn.html
|
| 4. |
Some
notes on using Korean character programs :
If you are using Netscape you may also have to adjust
your default encoding. Under the most recent versions,
this is accomplished simply by changing the default encoding
(Options | Default Encoding) to Korean. In versions prior
to 2.x, set it to Japanese S-JIS. |
