AMCHAM Korea's internship program is
offered throughout the year to graduate/undergraduate
students and recent graduates interested
in gaining hands-on work experience as well
as exposure to practices in international
business and trade policy. The AMCHAM intership
program is especially beneficial for applicants
interested in government policy, public
relations, marketing and business administration.
While
the term of internship may vary by individual
and department, we require a minimum commitment
of 3 months. Standardized programs are offered
in the summer and in the winter. Intern
recruting for the spring and fall are conducted
as needed.
Deadline for applicants
is on a rolling and need basis and may vary
by the department of your interest. While
we consider both part-time and full-time
applicants, we prefer candidates who are
available full-time.

| Interns can enjoy a wide range of
experiences while working at AMCHAM. We treat all interns with
professionalism, and we expect like attitude and commitment.
All applicants must be proficient in both spoken and written
English and have basic computer skills. Proficiency in Korean
is a plus. Basic knowledge of government and economic policy
would also be beneficial.

| We provide an excellent training
program. During orientation, we provide our interns with general
background information on AMCHAM, including its various departments
and its main functions. The orientation session also provides
interns of the various departments with the opportunity to mingle
and become better acquainted with one another and with the AMCHAM
staff.
Once the internship begins, interns of the various departments
are placed under the supervision of the respective staff. While
interns are expected to assist their supervisors on various
projects, supervisors can be expected to provide their interns
with the training and skills that are necessary for carrying
out AMCHAM's organizational practices as well as for future
job placement. Supervisors essentially function as mentors and
provide regular feedback and evaluation on performance. Performance
evaluations are conducted at the end of each month and serves
as an opportunity for both parties to reflect upon the internship
experience.

| The program at AMCHAM is an unpaid
internship. As a non-profit organization, AMCHAM is unable to offer its
interns the monetary compensation they may be able to receive
in the private sector. However, AMCHAM provides value no other
organization can offer. Our interns are able to receive the
exposure we believe is essential for someone who is about
to enter the business world.
AMCHAM provides its interns with hands-on work experience
in the industry of their interest, an opportunity to develop
professional business skills, and a chance to network with
international business leaders and gain a wider understanding
of the foreign business environment in Korea. Moreover, interns
are invited to all AMCHAM meetings and events, including general
membership meetings (GMM) and committee meetings. At these
meetings, interns may attend presentations by world-class
guest speakers from Korea and abroad and take advantage of
the chance to meet and network with successful business leaders
of various industries.
