  MESSAGE FROM CO-CHAIRS

    Dear AMCHAM Members,

As the war for talent intensifies, technology becomes more imbedded in daily life, companies increasingly focus on raising productivity and lowering costs, and more millennials enter the workplace, flexible workplace design and a dynamic workplace strategy are becoming increasingly important considerations in executing corporate real estate decisions. Activity based working, where companies provide employees with a range of options for how they work and collaborate and staff do not have a fixed desk or an enclosed office, is challenging long-held beliefs about how organizations are structured and driving a more flat and integrated corporate culture ? globally and in Korea. Co-working environments, where like-minded and complementary entrepreneurs and firms share workspace, are providing opportunities for both landlords and tenants ? creating benefits for smaller firms who lack the scale to embark on their own workplace transformation strategy.

On April 18th, the AMCHAM Real Estate Committee will host a lunch on The Future of the Workplace. Following networking and lunch, a facilitated panel session with three subject-matter experts will be held. Topics to be explored include the benefits that companies can expect to see from embracing the principles of modern workplace design, the factors that should be considered before embarking on activity based working or entering a co-working environment, a consideration of the types of companies and industries that are typically best-suited to flexible workplaces, and what companies can do to ensure they achieve the maximum financial, cultural and operational benefits that can be derived from embracing these changes.

The luncheon meeting will be chaired by Tim Trinka, Senior Foreign Lawyer at Lee International and the panel session will be moderated by Darren Krakowiak, Managing Director of CBRE Korea.

Regards,
?
